Hundreds of people marched through Melbourne streets in protest of Victoria’s latest snap lockdown.
Premier Daniel Andrews announced the week-long lockdown on Thursday after eight cases of COVID-19 were recorded – it will be the city’s sixth since the pandemic began.
The crowds of angry protesters marched from Flinders St Station to Swanston St, lighting flares and chanting about “freedom”.
Police confirmed hundreds of people were in attendance and two were arrested for breaching bail and giving false names.
Four more people are expected to be charged for breaching their bail conditions, and sixteen were fined for breaching coronavirus restrictions.
